Nice story, some talk being grateful and some show it. Being in the Military during the Viet Nam era was a non thankful event. We must not forget the great sacrifices the soldiers have made throughout  history to keep this country free.

God bless the troops!

Al,

Thanks for sharing that great story. I will for one will be passing it on. It is especially touching since I went to the Presidio in San Francisco to visit my parents on Veterans Day accompanied by ipaq. We wandered around a bit looking at other headstones as well and than sat and talked while looking at all those gravestones. I went to finally see my mom and dad together again and became more overwhelmed by the multitude of grave sites of our long lost soldiers. I thought at one point that what I was looking at was just a small portion of those lost in wars. How many cemeteries are there? Way to many.

Having been an Air Force brat one might wonder why I felt the shocking reality of it all but I still can not get past the site of all those graves and knowing there are millions more.

I for one am very grateful to all who have served. And I do tell soldiers when I see them.
