Is anyone having to take the 20 grams of fat on boceprivir? I know the ones on the incivik do but haven't heard of anyone on the boceprivir but me?

Hi Maggie,

Did you ask your doc about this? I'd take the prescribing info for Victrelis (boceprevir) to them or call your doc office and tell them the directions say to take your Victrelis with a small snack, about 100 calories. I know that 20g of fat thing is a big deal and I'd never do that if I didn't have to! Can understand your concern-- that is not standard prescribing protocol.

sounds like someone at the docs office got the two meds mixed up.  I would call/stop and talk to them.

Hey Maggie,

When I started treatment the nurse was taking me through my orientation and told me to make sure I ate the 20 grams of fat and then half way through stopped and said "Oh No"  you're on boceprevir you don't have to do that, just eat when you take it.  So I'd call, like banarep said they probobly just got the two mixed up.

Maggie - I have an appointment this afternoon for my first treatment.   One of the many reasons I will be taking Bocepravir is because it "does not" require the intake of fat; but is suggested you take the pills with a meal or snack.

Maggie, I think you are right, it's just you. Maybe your doc is just a little sadistic. Also, the fat is not easy on your liver and should not be taken unless required (Incivek). I'm sure your doctor will readvise.   Kirk

I reread the literature & called & talked to them & they said no, just a snack would be fine. Thank god! This was in the first 3days & at that rate I would be over 300 lbs in no time.  I'm trying to eat red meat & then 20 grams of fat I was so full I couldn't move.
I did buy a juicer to get my vitamins that my multi vit. wasn't supplying & so far it's pretty interesting.
