I can't begin to tell you all how excited you've made me about starting treatment this Friday   peace

I really don't want bald spots or more gray and hope that doesn't happen to every one.

Most importantly, I'm getting rid of this thing inside of me and ensuring I have many years remaining to love and be loved.  Whatever the price, I intend to say thank you to smile smile smile  :whistling:

Cheers -Zafu

I have 3 or 4 llama lashes on each eyelid.  About hit the floor when i put some mascara on the other day.  Quickly took it off as I looked like a freak!     I am not coloring my hair while on treatment but keeping it cut.  My hairdresser made the comment that the "shiny" stuff in my hair has in just the last few months during treatment turned completely gray.  Nice . . . thank you treatment.     My freckles are pale, I am pale.  Have claws for fingernails.  That's something I didn't have the last two treatments.  Hair is beginning to thin on top.  My bangs are see through now.  Otherwise the rest of my hair is still thick.  OMG I'm gonna look like David Crosby . .  bald on top, hair on the sides.   :surprised:  People see me and say you look fine except you look tired.  COME ON . . .  you know I look like crap and I know I look like crap.  I'm a big girl I can handle the truth.  I'm going through this and I can kinda see what I look like through my blurred vision.   My skin . . . well that's a story all on it's own.  BUT only 4 shots left and 5 weeks of Riba.  We are all lovely, handsome and dapper.

Zafu,  No it does not happen to everyone, don't panic. I think the important thing here is that we are able to share some humor about these visual sides of tx.  You get over the vanity issues knowing that it will not be permanent.

Hi JanetL,

The first time I did treatment my hair thinned out but nothing terribly dramatic.  AFter ending the second round of tx, with Incivek, I lost a lot of hair, but this happened 1 month after tx stopped.  I still have some patchy baldness but now, 2 months post tx, the hair is coming back in.  I keep my hair really short anyway, but it's still pretty odd looking.

Also had skin issues, getting much better now, but it's still more fragile than it had been before tx.

Good thread Janet.

Pete

ok here goes. we are all aware that what we put on our bodies is absorbed thru the skin and you guessed it into the liver. So I would say that those on treatment might want to refrain from hair dye, nail polish  blah blah blah.
Eyelashes the longest ever, so long i think i have bugs running up in there, or I could do a maybeline cosmetic commercial. Nose hairs growing so fast they are starting to touch each other, again the bugs up in there driving me insane in the membrane. going to buy a nose hair clipper.
As for the hair on my head when i saw the amount of hair in my shower drain  , I kinda freaked a bit. Also it was falling all over and the bugs kept crawling, so I shaved my head. My gf said I look "hot". People generally seem to dig it. The other day a friend of mine said I should have shaved my head years ago.  I have dark circled under my eyes, c'mon who the F*** sleeps on this stuff. Not me.
so no vanity her...can't afford it and really don't give a rats a**.  enough said. cheers

Just got back from having a passport photo taken ~ good lord, I look every bit as wiped out as I feel!  This in spite of wearing a pink sweater and lipstick.  Hair is flat cuz I'm not using mousse in it these days.  Dreadful.

Well, as long as they let me in and out of the country it will do the trick.  Still....................... what an unfortunate surprise.   I look like a thug. A tired thug with lipstick.  :upset: lmao

honestly, I don't give a rat's @ss either, future pictures can only look better.

Time for a nap.  I'm sleeping 9 to 10 hours a day personally, can't get enough.  Anyone else or am I the only one??

I know, hepcatt.  This is not really the face I want to present to the customs officers, but then again I'll be looking healthy by then...........   but jeesh, I'm going to be carrying this photo around for the next 10 years or whatever.  Nice souvenir of my battle with the  :dragon:

 :upset: :upset:

I bet I could get them to re-take it tomorrow, but don't care enough to try.  C'est la guerre!       peace

Post tx?  Oh lord.....if this happens might have to opt for a wig.  When I lost my hair with Cancer, I had a wig but hated it so I put on more makeup and went bald.  BUT, I was 43! and looked kind of pretty you know rocker.  Now that gravity has pulled some facial aspects down I don't think I could pull that off.
