I'm sorry to hear of Steve's dx, but very glad it made him stop using.  Some people stop on their own, but there are those of us who needed to BE stopped, and unfortunately it sometimes takes something catastrophic to do it.  If your brother is looking at his future and he's made up his mind to treat now, ultimately it's his decision to make and the most you can do other than voicing your educated opinion is be there to help him get through it.  I know that you're still on tx yourself and this is one more thing for you to address, but if Steve wants to fight for a healthy future without HCV I consider that in itself a miracle after 40 years of drug use...I don't know many users who think too much about having a future at all.

We've got to get him online so that he has additional support rather than having to depend on you alone to educate and guide him.  We're here for you Greg, and I think I speak for many of us when I say we'd like to be here to encourage & support Steve as well.

I'll be thinking of you and wishing you both the very best.

All the best to your brother Greg. Maybe a computer and a couple of lessons and you can have him join us. Could be a good thing!!

I also have a brother with hep c and has been an iv drug off and on for over 20 yrs.. Right now he's clean and wants to do tx also. His GI won't let him do tx until he's a year clean because of relapse issues. He's almost clean a yr. now, but I think it was a good idea. That's just my opinion.

Steve took shot 2 yesterday. If all goes well he will only have to do 24, depends how he responds. I would rather not be resposible for coaching right now, not sure I am up to it, but I will do what I have to.
