From personal experience while in the Army, we had fun with it, while deployed to some overseas location. It was all shapes and sized from a 747 plane with the number of days shaded daily to stuff the ladies wouldn't care to hear . but i still have mine from when i was in Korea in 1980. And I just recalled the terms. A "short timer" or I'm short was under 30 days till homebound, or 28 days and a wake up till...etc etc...I like it, all in good fun.

No. We haven't had the mod developed and installed yet. The current profile information boxes for providing treatment status are manual entry boxes.

When we have the count down mod developed and installed everyone's profile page will have an area to enter their treatment start and end date in their profile settings page. With this information entered in your profile settings page the countdown mod will then automatically count down your treatment (in weeks) and present the results on your main profile page. There will also be a check box option to have the results presented in your signature as well. This will place your count down clock results in your signature which appears under each post or reply you make on the forum boards.

When we have the count down mod developed and ready for installation we will definitely notifying everyone. We currently have some other technical site related projects we need to address first, but we still plan on instituting the count down clock mod.

Viper - Another possible way to approach this .. just another idea .. might be by allowing folks to use a Event Tracker like is available at:

http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php

I use this on my signature for the site you just gave the VL calculator too across the pond, kind of a fun tool,  as a person can pick and choose ..

I really like the idea and hope you get it going soon!!  Also, I would like to see the state where people are from if they are willing to share in their bio.

Yeah, it is a great idea.
I think it will give members a bit of a 'boost' seeing their numbers automatically reducing week by week.

UPDATE!

Our technical service team is currently developing our "Treatment Progress Counter" and should have it implemented within the next few weeks.

When completed, members will be able to enter their treatment start and end dates within their forum profile. When a member enters a treatment start and end date in the designated  profile fields of their Profile, their profile summary page (viewable by other members) will then reflect " I have (Numerical amount of weeks) left on treatment". It will also appear in their forum post/reply profile area under their avatar. Our site's member list will also have a treatment progress column which will list the amount of weeks members have on treatment if they opt to enter their treatment start and end date within their profile. The weeks will automatically count down per week until the end date is achieved. Once the end date is achieved, the treatment progress phrase will change to: " I Completed (total weeks) of treatment on (end date)".

As soon as the "Treatment Progress Counter" is implemented I will post here to let everyone know.

Sounds great Viper .. as the team is now working on this ..

One point I would add is after EOT and waiting for our EOT PCR results  .. maybe there might be a selection added in that implementation for :

How many weeks left until EOT Wk 12 PCR or Wk 24 PCR or both ?

In the selection " Treatment Therapy Success" there are no choices regarding the post Tx wait until Tx is determined success or relapse ..

Just a though as you are now in the process ...

Regards, Adn

Post Tx - 12 Wk. PCR - Und < 15 IU/ml
Waiting for Wk 24  ....

The Treatment Progress Counter is separate from the additional textual fields we currently have in place regarding treatment in member profiles. These will change/be updated once the treatment progress counter is implemented.

As to PCR or SVR results, manual text fields can be added, however following specific time frames to them being performed is tough as all physicians don't follow a strict time frames for these being performed. So labeling (ie: 4 wk PCR, 12 wk PCR, 24 week PCR) would be general standard reference points. For SVR, unfortunately healthcare insurance often dictates VL testing post TX. Though many physicians may desire to do a post TX VL commonly at 90 days post TX, insurance often won't pay for post TX VL tests before the standard 6 month post TX mark. Yes, frustrating as relapse often occurs within the first 90 days if it's going to occur.

The desired post TX VL test points for relapse by most physicians is: 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and finally at 24 months. 6 month point is the standard SVR point, however, relapse is still possible beyond this point though is very rare. With the new treatments being used now this will most likely be trimmed to: 3 month, 6 month with final at 12 months.
