Thanks for the birthday wishes everybody...it was the best one in years!  Had a wonderful dinner with my Dad and sons...one drove 6 hours to be here...the best present I could have gotten!

Cali

p.s.  Would have been perfect, but I'm staying up with my 17-year old cat tonight...I don't expect her to live til morning.  It's breaking my heart, but I know it's part of loving a pet...it just hurts so darn much.

Hey LL,  Somehow she's hanging on.  Took her to the vet yesterday and it seems her potassium had bottomed out.  She's got renal failure so with all the flushing out with fluids, the levels tanked.  Got some into her and she's actually feeling ok.  She's still failing, but not in any pain, she's still eating (unheard of), still affectionate...and is walking, not much, but on Sunday I was sure she laid down for the last time.  I figure as long as she's eating and she's not in any pain I'll keep her as comfortable as possible and continue her treatments.  (A couple weeks ago she was diagnosed with diabetes so she also gets insulin injections which totally freak me out!)  Thanks for asking LL!
