This will be the first year in a long time that I am not cooking.... (HCV treatment is good for some things!)...

Going to bro and sis-in-laws new home in the country - turkey, meatballs, mashed potatoes, yams, corn, green beans, squash souffle, salads and desserts are the staples...

too bad my appetite is not at peak form.... :upset:

But it will be great to visit with all my siblings, nieces and nephews, kids, grandkids... - and most of all with our Mom and Dad - who we are blessed to still have with us - this will probably be Dad's last thanksgiving - cancer is slowly taking over....

This is the first time I've not had to plan a visit to see my Dad at Thanksgiving, as most of you know, he passed away in May, my last month of tx (or as I affectionately call it, the month from hell!) So, just a quiet Sunday meal with wife & sons, sans son #2's GF as they just broke up. Bummer, great gal. Just your regular holiday meal, turkey, mashed, corn, etc. We're supposed to have great weather here in Ontario this weekend, so I plan on just chillin and enjoying that.

Small pleasures.

Thanks Al... prayer is appreciated...

Greyrocker, I ache for you...  times like this are very hard when family members are missing...

My Dad was diagnosed 4 years ago - around this time - and we thought that would be his last thanksgiving. We have been blessed to have him this long! Family means so much to him and he will be in his glory having all his kids, grand-kids and great-grand-kids around him. Can you believe (except for one of my nephews who is in Saskatchewan) that all of us live within a one hour radius here in Manitoba. That makes 30 Manitobans to 1  'Saskatchewanner'...

so sad to read your post.  I could tell you it gets eaiser, but it really never does.  Just hold on to those memories of Thanksgivings past and cheresh them.

Thanks, bro. I'm OK with it, I've accepted it, but we do miss him!

There is a VERY nervous turkey in our neighbourhood! Maybe more than one. I'm feeling better this year and enjoying food once again.....well on my way back to a buddha belly.

Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Canadians...we'll save some turkeys for our US friends.

Being thankful for all of you this weekend.

Blessings,
Mac
