FF-Month 3 of Triple is the hump, month 2 of Vic. The clinical trials stated this average as well as my specialty pharmacist. Wouldn't this be nice to know this ahead of time?  I don't know on the HepB for Vic, most of us are 1As.

HG (Ben) I was using Phenadoz suppositories to help with the nausea.I used these meds through month 5 of tx.  The ironic thing is your butt is already so darn mad at you for the meds, it does not seem logical to insert anything there to make it angrier.  :ahhh:

On week ten of this tx. VC went from 1,260,000 to 80,000 in 4 weeks.  Waiting for the 8 week results. Yep, got the side effects, bone aches, cold, nausea, weakness, and OMG, the itching (My back looks like a gator). Doc put me on Hydroxyzine helps for a while (4 out of 8 hours) with the symptoms but does not slow down the rash. Any suggestions for relief? Great site, glad to be a part of it. b-ham, al.

Hi Soggy Chicken! Love the handle, have to hear that story one of these days!

Try Aveeno baths every day for the rash. It's like putting out a fire. Also the Aveeno max strength lotion if you have someone to apply it for you. STAY AWAY FROM HOT WATER!

If your head is itching, try Scalpicin. Fantastic stuff! Cools on contact.

Welcome to the Itchy and Scratchy Show!

Sista Sue,

After my surgery last summer I had horrible nausea and my doctor gave me a fatastic pill that really helped.  I'll have to get the name for you, perhaps it will be better than the suppositories.  As if you need one more pill to take, but it really helps!

Hi Firefly,

I have 1b and I was UND at week 8. In Hungary most of the patients has 1b. I asked my Doc about the Victrelis results so far, and he said that all the others he treats are UND.

Miki -

Great to hear of your 8 wk. UND and the results over there.  I'm still so new to tx compared to others and any positive feedback helps me keep faith.  I'm getting the 8 wk. labs today and am nervous.  Thanks and have a great day.....firefly326

UND through 24 weeks!!
Week 24 labs show still UND, yay!  However, due my partial response and relapse last time around, I will still have to treat for 48 weeks.  I can deal with that knowing my chances are good for SVR.  Below is an excerpt from a note from my dr.

'The week 24 blood test results look very good.  The virus is still non-detectable, the blood counts are stable.   You have had a very good response to treatment, being negative at weeks 8, 12 and 24.  This puts your chances of cure well above 70%.'
Just wanted to share.  Best wishes and SVR to all!

Greetings all!

Four days ago, I finished 28 weeks of the Boceprevir-flavored treatment. Today I noticed a little spring in my step. Got my power walk back! I pray I never forget how good it feels not to feel bad.

Ironically, I finished the drug approved on a Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th.

On my first drug-free day, I noticed the absence of the morning queasiness, which was typically paired with dysgeusia -- the disgusting, bitter, chemical taste that is known to accompany the drug. Otherwise, the side effects remain, which is to be expected, most notably anemia and dry skin.

I regret that I only first wondered upon this site. In the months following my diagnosis, I began attending a Hepatitis support group, which has been immensely helpful. We've had the privilege of interacting with world-class doctors and researchers. However, the support of others -- at various stages in the progression -- has proven to be the difference-maker in this ordeal. I know there are folks out there struggling as I have. Perhaps I can be of some assistance.

Hi TakkiC,

Congrats. Another one past the post !
I'm interested to read your lessening symptoms, even 4 days post treatment.
Obviously the anaemia will take much longer to rise to normal levels.
I have another 9 weeks of the Boceprevir cocktail, and am crossing the days off on my calendar already!
I can deal with the anaemia and skin itch, but my brain is affected in so many different ways.
So, once again, well done and I wish you all the best for SVR.
