Has anyone read much on this? IL28B

It is a genetic marker that tells if a person is likely to respond to treatment. I just talked to a friend who just today got the info from her trial back. She found out that she was on the real stuff, the Boceprevir. And since she had relapsed that was disheartening for her. But they took blood today to look for this genetic marker to see how she might respond to future treatment.

The trial I'm on did something like that....I'll have to ask them specifically what test/marker they were looking for.

I also know a 3 times non responder being tested for this...It's a predictive test. It checks to see how your response to PegIFN will be. There's three geno's (CC, CT, TT).
