Yes, I've been bad, but we all gotta do what gets us thru this. This is a great, but for a second timer, very hard study. No vl disclosed until 48 weeks at which time they tell you that you had a placebo the first 12 weeks and extend tx to 60 weeks! I had to know because this tx is tearing me up. I had a cakewalk the first time when I was in better shape. But this tx I have seen how the other side lives. Rough, I see what so many of you have gone through. My blood counts remain steady as my doc shows them to me every monday am 7:30 I am his first patient and treated like royalty. We have an ongoing joke where he says "want to see your vl?" Its right here and it says blinded! I can see the whole office pulling for me, our little secret, will they see the change in my eyes? I had to wait 3 hrs for the wife to get home and never uttered a word, she knew right off the moment of und had arrived. WOW

Tex,  never apologize for being bad.  It ruins our Texas image.

I did the same thing and my study nurse asked me why I was smiling the next time I came in and I said that I knew I was UND.  She told me not to tell her how I knew....but she was happy for me as well.  They understand.  Did the protical say that you could not get outside lab tests?

Nothing is said about outside labs...but it is very strict...I do a urine test every week and they check for everything. Well, almost everything, marijuana is noticbly absent from the list! The study is out of switzerland, not sure if that matters. But I can't tell them I had bloodwork done...just too risky...but I will be smiling, but really, I am always joking and smiling and showing them my best side trying to be 'tough' wink, wink

OMG, Tex, that is HARSH! Making you go thru tx for 48 weeks with NO VL!?! That is beyond harsh, that's just plain sadistic! I don't blame you, I'd have gotten a VL myself, too.  I kinda "forgot" to tell the lab the VL test wasn't part of my standing orders so I had 4 of them in 7 weeks after I finished tx last fall. :whistling:

...but what matters is that you are UND. Congrats!!

Thanks sharon, cali, pc, br, gr and everyone . The protocol is indeed harsh. No antihistamines, cold remedies, antibiotics, antivirals, on and on. Seems there are some serious interactions with the study drug, a cyclophilin inhibitor. Just got back from doc, and they still don't know anything except my numbers are good and to keep me on tx. I am struggling with a cold and am told liquids and warm tea for the throat, that's all I can take. Hey al ontario, I am waiting on my happy dance...:)
