< 615 Sounds good to me
« on: December 29, 2010, 03:54:36 PM »
Not quite sure how to interpret my independ. lab results. I have not quite seen any like this. Being on tx 32 days I don't see any bad news! My lowest vl first tx came at 32 weeks in and it was 43. VL after first tx got to 2.2 mil. so since I only got a baseline of 6 logs to start this 2nd tx I put my baseline @ 900,000? Had a hcv rna quant bdna done last week and here are the results. result <615    ref range <615  unit iu/ml
Is this a 3.2 log drop?   did they use a test that only does 615 or less? yall all know what I am searching for right, those ever elusive 3 letters, I think I am close folks, real close. I would also have to guess that since this number went so low, so quick, I am not on the placebo, have not even called anyone yet, this is pretty good, right?  :whistling:

I'm not sure, but it seems to me like maybe they are using a test that only measures down to 615. I would think that if your VL was 615, it wouldn't have the < symbol in front of it.

Regardless, this is excellent, Tex! Way to go, my friend! It seems like you must be on the wonderdrug to get those kinds of #s.

Now that has to boost your spirits, right?

With a VL reference range of just 615, it appears they used the less sensitive test. This is common due to insurance companies not wanting to pay the higher cost of the more sensations tests during mid-treatment. I sure they will use the more sensitive test post TX.

The plus side here is the results showed less than the testable range by the less then sign that precedes it. This means UNDETECTABLE! So, yes, these lab results look very good.

Way to go!
